Kittur Rani Chennamma Memorial, Bailhongal

Search for some sites connected to history and you are sure to  get it.  Bailhongal is one such town in Belgaum District. Heart swells with pride by the mention of the warrior queen Kittur Rani Chennama, who died fighting the British. Here in Bailhongal she was imprisoned and killed. Setting my foot on this hallowed grounds of her samadhi was a heart warming experience.

Does any of you ware about the history of Bailhongal? I just hear Rani Chennamma episode which is very recent.
1. Like who constructed the water tank shown in the picture. I am sure there are couple of more towers?
2. Who constructed the watch tower?
3. Who was the architect of the great Lake Bailhongal has?
4. Who were the actual rulers of the place?
5. Does anyone knows Kittur was not a dynesty but a Jageer? Who was the ruler then?

Can someone try throwing some light on this?
